On October 1, 2014 the Federal Exchange will open to individuals who are looking to apply for health insurance that will be effective January 1, 2014.

Several million American families will qualify for hundreds of dollars of health insurance tax premium credits per month. It is estimated that 25.7 million Americans will be eligible for a premium subsidy.

In order for the families to qualify for the subsidy the household income must be between 100% – 400% of the Federal Poverty Limit (see our article on this subject).
