Question #88 Can I add a Married Child to my Plan?

Published on August 26, 2015

Question #88 comes in as: My daughter or son just got married, can I add them onto my plan? They aren’t 26 years old yet.

Yes, A son or daughter can be added to their parents insurance regardless of whether or not they are married. However, once the son or daughter turns 26 they are no longer eligible to be on their parents insurance at the end of the birth month. If the plan is from the Marketplace the son or daughter can stay until December 31st of the year they turn 26.
